Re: Truncated output

Will the school install software that you need? Where I am the administrator can load software on the local cloud that the students use. Also, portable applications can be given to students to add to their account storage (directory) and run successfully. I have successfully used programs for my stu...

Re: Truncated output

Since Latex and ghostscript can be installed in Windows, it seems like this could work: https://aty.sdsu.edu/bibliog/latex/LaTeXtoPDF.html https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/49569/where-to-download-pdflatex-exe https://superuser.com/questions/807027/how-to-print-with-ghostscript-in-silent-mode ...

Re: basic analysis of expression

This should be easy to do with a program (script). To add something to Xcas for this seems redundant.

Crash bug

I noticed this today, but I don't know how long it has existed. Using: "giac 1.7.0-31, (c) B. Parisse and R. De Graeve, Institut Fourier, Universite de Grenoble I" I attached a file. I have a program grouped in location 1. If I click the plus to open the group and try to edit the program, xcas crash...

Re: Font size and colors

I have attached 3 .xws files that open with different colors and fonts on my machine (Win 10 64 bit 20H2). I am running the 64 bit cygwin version 1.7.0-29. Do these open and look different from each other for you?

Font size and colors

I noticed that when I open old xws files the fonts and colors are often different. It appears they are controlled with something inside the xws file. I see a lot of data I can't decipher. Can you tell me what part of the xws file controls fonts and colors?

Units in latex

I like the way the new version handles variable names in Latex, separating products of variables with a dot in a very consistant manner, makeing mass*var not end up looking like massvar in the latex output for example. Thank you very much for that. I have been working with units lately which allows ...

Xcas features that I don't want to go away

Xcas has a couple of features that I find very useful and might not be obvious: A matrix can combine equations and text. This makes it so I can label data and equation blocks. The substitute command does not barf when I use a matrix with text in it. Also, the markers that were added in the latex out...

Re: Latex output bugs?

I like it. One thing I noticed that I didn't notice before. If I include a programmatic section is seems to need "\usepackage{amsmath}" for the "Done" messages that use \text Please find example attached. I normally use a bash script to remove "hidden" sections from the tex file because I don't want...
