when typing some unicode symbols, they are not displayed in the input lines, only at the output, please try the following

1:
"ⅈ, ⅉ" [enter] -> "[],[]" (input)
"ⅈ, ⅉ" (output)

Then don't use them. They are probably not supported by the FLTK library. Stick to ascii!
