e(5) [enter] exp(1), exp(5) Why?

It's a side effect of e being parsed as exp(1) but I don't know exactly why the 5 is added as argument to exp. I could probably find why if I searched a couple of hours, but why? You are using an invalid syntax, you get something unexpected.
