Truncated output

Message par belanger » mer. oct. 27, 2021 11:22 pm

Xcas is installed on my university's computers (they use a Windows Thin Client), and printing from there cuts off part of the session. For example, I've attached the print result of a small session (winsession.ps).
I use Ubuntu, not Windows, so I tried it on my computer. This time, the session was there, but only the lower half of the output (see linsession.ps). (LaTeX printing works well on my computer, but not at all on the university computers.)

I can probably make the necessary adjustments on my computer, but I don't know what to do on the Windows computers. Are there any adjustments that I tell my students to do when they use Xcas?

Since Latex and ghostscript can be installed in Windows, it seems like this could work:

https://aty.sdsu.edu/bibliog/latex/LaTeXtoPDF.html
https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions ... flatex-exe
https://superuser.com/questions/807027/ ... ilent-mode

I had never used the Print function in Xcas and I just tried it and it only prints part of the file on my local Windows machine.

I use Cygwin on my machine to print Latex from Xcas but, it is local and you said it works fine on your local machine.

I think the LaTeX->PDF->Print would work for me, but I'm not sure about my students.

Will the school install software that you need? Where I am the administrator can load software on the local cloud that the students use. Also, portable applications can be given to students to add to their account storage (directory) and run successfully. I have successfully used programs for my students in that manner.

The IT department will install what I need, but it won't be installed until next school year. Which will be fine. Thanks!
