Xcas on the Mate desktop

A few weeks ago I was having problems with Xfce, so I switched to Mate. The first thing I noticed was that Xcas uses a different color palette on this desktop. Is this some kind of FLTK dynamic theme that tries to emulate the Gtk theme? Or is it something internal to Xcas?
I'm asking because in Mate, input lines or comments lines in Xcas use a white color for mouse selection. But since the background color of these inputs is white, I can't see what I've selected with the mouse. Of course, a simple solution is to change the background of these entries. But I'd like to know if this is something related to FLTK or something related to Xcas.
Regards.
